ACB Tightens Noose on Corrupt Officials in ₹50K Bribery Case
The ACB has filed a chargesheet against a Naib Tehsildar and a Patwari in connection with an alleged bribery case involving ₹50,000, officials said on Thursday.
According to officials, the accused public servants were caught demanding and accepting a bribe from a complainant in exchange for processing official land-related work. The complaint was lodged with the ACB, which subsequently initiated a verification process to confirm the allegations.
Following confirmation, the ACB laid a trap during which both officials were allegedly caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount. The accused were immediately taken into custody, and further investigation was launched.
After completing the investigation, the ACB has now filed a formal chargesheet before the competent court, detailing the evidence gathered during the probe. The chargesheet includes allegations under relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Officials stated that the case will now proceed through judicial channels, and further legal action will be determined by the court based on the evidence presented.
The ACB reiterated its commitment to combating corruption and urged the public to report any instances of bribery or misuse of official position.
